A Visiting Educator Program

The American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery has partnered with ReSurge International to bring our members’ skills to those in need around the world. ReSurge International provides reconstructive surgical care for children and adults who lack access and builds surgical capacity in developing countries. Together ASRM and ReSurge can restore the dreams of those with deformities and injuries, and impact the world by renewing the health of many children and adults each year. ASRM has started a clinical outreach program MicroSurge to provide ASRM members the opportunity to fulfil this goal and serve on short term surgical missions to underserved communities. The main goal is to serve as an educator and a mentor to local surgeons and work with them to serve their community. This opportunity is a fully funded by ASRM, ReSurge and industry

The qualifications are:

  • Board certified (or board equivalent if located internationally) surgeon with focus on reconstructive microsurgery

  • Prefer minimum of 5 years of experience

  • Prefer experience with education and training of residents and fellows

  • Active member of ASRM
